Children between age two and three are sprouting up into young people with wide-eyes and a curious vocabulary.

The emphasis in this class is on nurturing the connection between home and school, socially adjusting, and learning in an environment planned to encourage discovery, independence, the imagination, and social interaction. In order to develop confidence and self-regulation, children are encouraged to help themselves, take initiative, and become increasingly independent.

Children explore and work in large groups, small groups, and independently of one another through a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. Our classes are kept small, with two co-teachers in each class.

The encouragement of each child’s natural curiosity and interest is important at this developmental age. Therefore, children actively participate and co-create in the learning process through the many opportunities to learn by doing and through playing. The day unfolds with a diverse variety of ways to explore learning centers, practice listening skills, fine and gross motor skills, and to express and regulate emotions.

Students enjoy a variety of choices in the classroom, the garden, and on the playground. Our rich environment includes sand and water play, dramatic play, art, blocks and erector building sets, books, a nature station, STEM centers, music, gardening, and animals to interact with. Learning is fun and playful in our preschool sprouts program.

The Preschool Program is divided into four classes:

  • The Nest is for children 24 months to 30 months, needing bathroom assistance, limited to SEVEN (7) students.
  • The Early Preschool Program is for children over 30 months, still needing bathroom support, limited to TWELVE (12) students.
  • The Preschool Program is for children three years in age, bathroom proficient, limited to TWELVE (12) students.
  • The Mixed Preschool is for children three and four years of age, limited to TWELVE (12) students.

Children who have not yet graduated from pull-ups can have extra assistance. Bathroom training is included in The Nest and Early Preschool Programs tuition. All children who are requiring bathroom assistance must be in one of those programs.
